Jytte Kornbeck Loeppenthin
Jytte Kornbeck Løppenthin lives and works in Copenhagen. She is what's known as a "late bloomer," having made her debut as an artist only in her 40s. She has exhibited unique pieces of jewelry both in Denmark and abroad, and participates regularly in craft markets. Her professional background is a degree in jewelry design from ‘Institut for ædelmetal’.
As a jewelry artist, Jytte Kornbeck Løppenthin works with many different crafts and materials. Humor, poetry, and naivety are key words in her work, which often deals with friendship, world peace, and trends in society. Jytte Kornbeck Løppenthin likes to tell stories and wants to spark the viewer's imagination, offering the chance to return to a time or place in childhood where poetry and play mattered. Her work invites dialogue and reflection. Some are pieces for the body, some for the wall, and some for the table.
In recent years, Jytte Kornbeck Løppenthin has moved toward larger scale work and has incorporated papier-mâché and stoneware as materials. She creates everything from astonished, lively sculptures to salt cellars and vases, all of which can contribute to storytelling in homes both small and large.
